It’s all about respect
I hesitate to write this entry with so much disgust on my mind and in my heart. I am afraid it sounds offensive & to some point, I appear grouchy.
To make matters clear, I am not grouchy or mean. Don't even think about undiplomatic. I’m nowhere close that. Just that everything has a limit & I think mine has just been reached.
I had enough from guys who doesn’t combine brains with their behaviour.
Revolting.
That’s the only vocabulary to describe my view on this.
I know it’s pretty usual a sight to see guys sitting around in groups sharing their critical obersavation of gurl’s outlook & behaviour, then proceed to laugh heartily or rather, cruely upon that. I’m also familiar with situations which guys openly created a joke out of that gurl at her face. Even so, I’ll really like to know what makes them think they that they have all the right to make discrimating remarks on the less perfect gurls? Are they so sure they look good enough to make a joke out of someone else’s appearance? Are they aware that their behaviour made them the most disgusting beings ever compared to their victim whom they just labelled as disgusting? & what does ostracizing earn them? The passport to be included in their peer circle? Or fun for just that second? Whatever their motive, it all sums up to immaturity.
To add on to the factors of disgust with tactless guys, they seem to not understand one fact; when nothing is commented on them by the gurls, it doesn’t always mean he’s a perfect being. We gurls, who are more merciful & diplomatic creatures, will never stoop to the level of discussing with a group of other gurls how deformed u look.
”Eeeks, that guy’s face is flooding with acne!”
“Yikes, look at how short he is, I’m sure only melons will fall for him”
“My gosh, look at that spare tyre!”
“Whoa that guy’s face really buang sia…”
Just imagine all these were commented in a group behind ur back guys; or worst, imagine all these were commented directly at ur (already deformed) face. Opps =X Won’t u be a least bit disgusted?
For those who had catched I not stupid too at the theatres, remember the line “When’s the last time u complimented someone?”
If complimenting wasn’t ur thing, maybe silence serves better than words.
One more thing for the god dammit think-of-themselves-as-someone-who-has-wicked-sense-of-humour guys, it’s wasn’t funny to comment on a gurl’s boobs if she’s not ur gurlfriend. Neither was that a gentlemanly thing to do. Why boobs? Because I freaking kena the boobs-issues before & I’m uber annoyed.
Once or twice when u joked about me purposely trying to show u my cleavage when I’m in a low cut top is perfectly fine with me. However too many a time especially on days I wasn’t even in a low cut top, allow me to break this to u but this joke doesn’t work anymore. ‘Accidents’ can also happen with non-low cut tops just in case ur narrow-minded brain haven’t registered this. If u happen to catch a glimpse of some cleavage, big deal? There’s no need to announce to the world that u just saw my cleavage, then proceed to laugh like it was the most hilarious thing in the world. It pisses me off. Fine, next time when I turn up in a turtle neck long-sleeved top completed with snow cap & jeans; don’t u dare ask what happen to me.
One even more ridiculous incident to share with readers.
There was this once I went ktv-ing with a group of my friends. My friend’s girlfriend wanted a picture with me, so we got a guy friend of ours to help us take that picture & guess what that fella did? He zoomed in on my chest & took a picture, then show it to other guys on the spot, laughing like what did he was really humorous. Mind u, I wasn’t even in a low cut top & I even wore a cropped jacket over my top can? Of course I got pissed & clam up for the next few minutes; & I admit secretly calling him an arsehole under my breath. It’s not an issue of pettiness or narrow-mindedness. Think about it guys, will u like it if I did the same thing u, zooming in on ur groin, took a picture then giggled with other gurls?
I doubt so.
Be funny, but be diplomatically funny.
I refuse to hear of any jokes with low intellect.
When someone asked that guy why he wasn’t singing, I bitterly add on that he was too busy taking picture of gurls’ boobs to be bothered with singing. I’m not gonna mention names here but I’m sure if he reads this, he’ll know I’m referring to him. As much as I consider him as an uber good friend of mine, I’ll still expect a level of respect from him. At least treat me like a gurl whether or not I behave like one in front of him. Pointless hanging out with someone who’s constantly finding ways & means to tear down ur pride.
Ah, the power of blog-therapy. I’m feeling so much calmer now.
